2026 · Full-lengthGRACE

- Premiere
- Venue
GRACE, a new original creation by LED Directors Lauren Edson and Andrew Stensaas, featuring breathtaking contemporary dance, an original score performed live, and immersive scenic design. Set in the 1940s and inspired by the physical and emotional world of wrestling, GRACE explores the rituals we create, the rules we follow, and what happens when those rules begin to break down. Funny, fierce, and theatrical, it exists somewhere between a wrestling ring and a dinner party.

2026 · Short workOh, Echo

- Premiere
- Venue
Oh, Echo draws from the tragedy of Narcissus and Echo to explore the ways we deceive ourselves and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are. It asks whether we can loosen our attachment to the self enough to make space for something larger: a connection to another, or to something beyond ourselves.

2026 · Full-lengthLook, Mom!

- Premiere
- Venue
Set within a lush and playful world inspired by French clown traditions, this haunting work explores performance as survival and the human longing to be recognized: by a parent, an audience, or the world itself.
Through breathtaking movement, live original music, and a vivid interplay of sound and shadow, this humorous and theatrical piece swings between a desperate call into the abyss and the joyful chaos of a birthday party.
Crafted and performed by Lauren Edson and Andrew Stensaas, alongside an extraordinary ensemble of artists from across the country, Look, Mom! is a vulnerable and poetic meditation that returns again and again to a single, tender question: are you watching?

2025 · Full-lengthThe Rat King

- Premiere
- Venue
The Rat King reimagines The Nutcracker through a bold, burlesque-inspired lens — one part Sugar Plum, two parts pure mischief.
It shines a spotlight on the lesser-known story of the Rat King — a figure often feared, perhaps misunderstood. What unfolds is a genre-defying feast of performance, with LED’s in-house band as your musical host. A holiday classic, transformed.

2025 · Full-lengthMy Strange Darling

- Premiere
- Venue
My Strange Darling tells the story of a performer who, beneath the glittering spotlight of a 1950s inspired variety show, retreats each night into solitude to construct a robot. Set within a stylized sci-fi world, the work explores the fragile space between technology and tenderness, and the costs we are willing to bear in our search for connection.
Conceived and directed by Lauren Edson and Andrew Stensaas, and featuring a handcrafted puppet by Jessica Nebeker alongside a stellar cast from across the country, My Strange Darling weaves together original music, dance, and theatricality. The result is a haunting and imaginative meditation on our hyperconnected digital lives and the quiet ache that lingers beneath them.
In the age of digital saturation, artificial intelligence, and curated personas, My Strange Darling asks: What do we reach for when the world feels both intimately near and impossibly far away?

2024 · Short workAn Arm and a Leg

- Premiere
- Venue
An Arm and a Leg playfully dives into the things we think we “know,” and asks the question, what if we really know nothing at all?
How does language both articulate and quietly reduce our lived experience? An Arm and a Leg contests with the competing forms of body and voice, harmony and chaos and uses “binomial pairs” to question, what do we really know for certain? Incorporating live, original music by LED’s in-house band and jaw-dropping physicality by Lauren Edson and the LED dancers, this work lies somewhere between cotton-candy clouds and a torrential downpour.
