Kayla Jackson

KAYLA MARIE JACKSON (she/her) is originally from Lincolnton, North Carolina, but currently resides in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She recently graduated from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts with a concentration in Contemporary. From collaborating with guest and faculty choreographers, Abdur Rahim Jackson, Darrell Moultrie, Andrea Weber, Emily Nicolau, Wesley Williams, Trey McIntyre, Savannah Spratt, to studying under Brenda Daniels, Endalyn Taylor Outlaw, Abigail Yager, Ming-Lung Yang, Sean Sullivan, Ashley Lindsey, Kira Blazek Ziaii, and Angelina Sansone, Kayla has received diverse training. Further investigation of codified techniques and experience include: Limón technique, Cunningham technique, Countertechnique, Trisha Brown repertoire, contemporary-based works, modern works, West African, floor work, and ballet curricula typically based upon the American Ballet Theatre’s methodology. Outside of her UNCSA training, she has attended Whim W’Him’s Winter Intensive (2024), A.I.M. by Kyle Abraham’s Summer Intensive (2025), and UNCSA’s Dance Connection Now Summer Program (2025), where she has learned from Olivier Wevers, Kyle Abraham, Maleek Washington, Tamisha Guy, while being involved in works by Stephen Shynes, and Christian Denice.

Kayla is thrilled to be working with such an amazing group of people where she has the opportunity to learn under the direction of Lauren Edson for her full-length work, “My Strange Darling”.
