Our New Home: A Milestone for the Arts in Idaho

LED has reached an exciting and rare milestone: a place to call our own. For any nonprofit arts organization, securing a permanent home is a monumental achievement. For us, it signifies a giant leap toward establishing a lasting presence within the artistic community and making a profound impact on the Idaho arts landscape and the artists who call it home. We’ve established a 20-year lease to own agreement on a stunning 6,658-square-foot historic building, located in the heart of the Live Work Create District of Garden City.

With this new space, we’re building a vibrant, cutting-edge hub for creativity, performance, and community connection. This venue will stand as a beacon of artistic innovation, offering a dynamic, adaptable environment where artists and audiences can come together to experience original works in an intimate, immersive way. From modular theater configurations to a movement studio loft, LED’s new home will reflect the spirit of creativity and forward-thinking that has defined our company since the beginning.

As we transform this space, we’re filled with excitement for the future—one where our work continues to inspire, engage, and connect people through the transformative power of the arts. This will truly be a place unlike any other.

THE VISION

The Theater

The heart of our new home will be a state-of-the-art, modular theater, designed with flexibility and accessibility at the forefront. We’re building a space where art can take many forms, and where every audience member feels immersed in the experience. With telescopic seating for up to 150 guests, this adaptable design will allow us to host a diverse range of performances—each event unique, each seat perfectly positioned for an intimate, engaging experience. Imagine film screening, dance performances, music concerts, comedy shows, dance parties, karaoke and anything else we can dream up.

This theater will also be available for rental by local organizations, artists, and educational institutions, creating an open and vibrant space for collaboration across Boise’s creative community. It’s a venue built for growth, connection, and discovery.

The Movement Studio

Our new home will be a place for artists to flourish. Rehearsals, workshops, residencies, and experimental performances will all find a home here, in a space designed to nurture innovation. The modular theater can be rearranged to suit any artistic need, giving creators the freedom to explore bold new ideas. Each year, we plan to host 50-100 artists in this space, connecting local talent with regional and national creatives, fostering collaboration, and pushing artistic boundaries.

The Lounge

A place for community and deeper engagement, where you can connect with the artists, learn about their creative process, and enjoy meaningful conversations. Grab a drink before or after the show, and stick around to soak in the art and the stories behind it.

Help Us Build the Future

Construction has begun, and we're slated to open July 2025! We've raised nearly $900k of our $2M goal and are transforming this building into a world-class space for art and community.

Over the next six months, with the incredible team of Hatch Design and DeBelloy Construction in collaboration with OPSIS, a renowned design firm based in Portland, OR, we will bring this vision to life, turning this historic building into LED’s vibrant, creative home.

This is a defining moment for LED, and we invite you to be part of it. Your support will truly help us bring this vision to life.
