LED is passionate about broadening our connection with the next generation of aspiring professional artists and deepening the well of appreciation for the performing arts for the young people in our community, through our newly launched Outreach Program.

We're thrilled to share our art with High Schoolers through unexpected Flash Mob performances this school year.

Thank you to the City of Boise's Arts and History Department for making this program possible.

DANCE IS CRINGE, but also cool…

DANCE IS CRINGE, but also cool…

“Dance is Cringe,” launched this fall in our local public high schools and brings joy and connection to staff, administration and students, particularly teens who’ve been deeply affected by the pandemic, struggling with mental health challenges. Through this program, we aim to show that dance—often perceived as awkward or "cringe"—can also be liberating and fun, reinforcing the idea that "we are all dancers, simply because we have a body."  Our youth matters.

The Impact

This October we launched our pilot program at Boise High School located in downtown Boise, ID. We engaged with hundreds of students and faculty in the quad during their morning break and were propelled by the enthusiasm and incredible response to the impromptu performances. We're thrilled to expand the program into more schools and deepen our connections. We even overheard students saying, "do you see what their shirts say? This is so cool!"
